FAQS About the Novice / Prizewinner Class
-Material: The biggest difference about material at these levels is that the hard shoes rhythms change and become more difficult. These are also the levels where more intricate soft shoe foot-work is learned. -Competitions: For those dancers choosing to compete at these levels they may now purchase and use their own individual solo costumes (if they wish.) Dancers competing in Prizewinner have the added excitement that when they get 2 first places (1 in hard shoe & 1 in soft shoe) they qualify for the Championship level and Solo Competition at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Irish Dance Championships! -Regional & National Championships: Depending on your child's age, ability, etc... they may be invited to participate in the Regional & National Championships for team dances or traditional set dance competitions. You will be sent specific information once an invitation has been given. The Regional Championships are always in Philadelphia, PA over Thanksgiving weekend. The National Championships change location every year but are always held over the week of Independence Day. |
