FAQS about the Advanced Beginner Class:
-How long is the class? The Advanced Beginner Class lasts 2 hours. This is often a big jump for younger children to go from a one hour class to a 2 hour class. Some parents choose to "ease" their child into the schedule by first having them stay an extra 15 minutes, then extra 30, then extra 45, then the full 2 hours. We respect the parents' discretion in this matter. -Will my child need a uniform? Once your child is in Advanced Beginner, they will need to purchase the school uniform and wear it to every class if they have not already done so. -What material will they learn? In the Advanced Beginner Class, girls begin to learn the Girls-Only dance: The Slip Jig. Dancers also begin learning Hard shoe at this level and this takes up most of the 2nd hour of class. -Will my child need hard shoes? Yes! It is very important for children to learn the hard shoe dancing with the appropriate shoes. If you have questions about purchasing shoes, please speak with our Costume Director. -Performances: This is a wonderful level for dancers to begin doing shows if they have not already begun to do so!
